Overview
Undaunted, released August 18, 2010, is the third HGSS expansion with 91 cards. It featured Rayquaza & Deoxys LEGEND and Entei & Suicune LEGEND as its premium duo cards. The set also included popular Eeveelution Primes — Espeon and Umbreon — which are among the most collected cards of the HGSS era.
Best for
- People bridging EX into DP checklist habits
- collectors pricing Undaunted (2010, 91 cards) as DP / Platinum era cardboard — not as generic “old cards”
- buyers who already know Umbreon Prime / Espeon Prime is the expensive row in Undaunted
Skip this path if
- you only shop modern illustration rares and will not learn DP numbering
- you expect every card in Undaunted to carry similar resale (bulk is bulk)
Common mistakes
The expensive mistake on Undaunted is confusing base DP with later era expansions when reading listings. Set code hgss3 (2010) is the membership test — character name alone will not save a bad buy. Budget Umbreon Prime / Espeon Prime as priority singles; the other 89 cards are not the same project.
What to check first
Pull up Umbreon Prime / Espeon Prime first — number, finish, and surface — then decide if the ask is real. Parallel check: exact expansion code, reverse vs standard holo, and any LV.X-style chase. Only after that does the full Undaunted checklist tell you what is left.
Most valuable cards
Rayquaza & Deoxys LEGEND (top #89 / bottom #90) is the set's most valuable duo. Umbreon Prime (#86) and Espeon Prime (#81) are extremely popular with Eeveelution collectors. Scizor Prime (#84) and Houndoom Prime (#82) are also sought after. Raichu Prime rounds out the notable Primes.

Tips to finish the set
At 91 cards, Undaunted is the smallest HGSS expansion. The Eeveelution Primes drive significant demand. Rayquaza & Deoxys LEGEND is the premium chase pair. This smaller set size makes completion more achievable than other HGSS expansions.
How to Complete This Set
- 01
Identify Undaunted cards by set code hgss3 / symbol — do not sort by art alone
- 02
Split bulk commons/uncommons from holos and special rarities before pricing
- 03
Track Umbreon Prime and Espeon Prime as priority singles, not pack EV fantasies
- 04
Scan or checklist-gap the rest after the chase budget is honest
