Overview

Flashfire is the second XY-era expansion, released in May 2014 with a heavy emphasis on Fire-type Pokemon. The 109-card set is defined by its dual Mega Charizard EX cards representing both X and Y Mega Evolutions. Flashfire remains one of the most collectible XY sets due to the enduring popularity of Charizard.

Most valuable cards

Mega Charizard EX (Full Art #107) depicting the Y form is the crown jewel, valued at $80-150+ in near-mint condition. The X form Mega Charizard EX (Full Art #108) is equally desirable. Toxicroak EX Full Art and Kangaskhan EX Full Art also hold solid value in the $15-30 range.

Tips to finish the set

Flashfire is a smaller set at 109 cards, but the Charizard chase cards make sealed product expensive. Consider buying singles for the Full Art EX cards and filling commons from bulk lots. The two secret rares (Mega Charizard EX #107 and #108) are the hardest pulls.
