Generation I: Where It All Began
Generation I introduced the original 151 Kanto Pokémon with Red and Blue on Game Boy in 1996 (1998 in North America), followed by Yellow in 1998. The TCG arm launched in English with Base Set in January 1999. Charizard, Blastoise, Venusaur, Pikachu, and Mewtwo anchored a cultural phenomenon that shaped modern collectibles.
