Pokex uses a computer vision AI model trained on tens of thousands of Pokemon card images. When you point your camera at a card, the model analyzes the artwork, text, set symbol, and card number to identify the exact card and variant.

Pokex identifies cards with over 95% accuracy across all sets. The AI is particularly strong with modern sets and English-language cards. If a scan is uncertain, the app will show you the top matches so you can select the correct one.

Yes, Pokex can scan cards through clear penny sleeves and most top-loaders. Avoid heavily tinted or scratched sleeves that obscure the card details. For best results, minimize glare by adjusting the angle of the card.

Common issues include poor lighting, glare on the card surface, blurry camera focus, or the card being too far from the camera. Make sure the full card is visible in the frame, use even lighting without direct reflections, and hold the phone steady until identification completes.

Currently Pokex scans one card at a time for maximum accuracy. However, the rapid scan mode lets you scan cards in quick succession by placing them one after another in front of the camera without returning to the menu each time.

Yes, Pokex supports Japanese Pokemon cards. The scanner recognizes Japanese card artwork and set markings. Pricing for Japanese cards is pulled from Japanese market sources when available.
